Nokia devices include features that are useful to customers with limited hand coordination, dexterity, and strength. Some of these include:
- Dished keys to make it easier to use a mouthstick or other device to dial
- Audio/voice interaction with user interface eliminating need to see or grasp phone
- Speakerphone with voice-activated answering
- Speech-independent name dialing
- Voice dialing, voice recorder, and voice commands with integrated handsfree speaker
- Voice dialing can be combined with use of a Bluetooth headset to eliminate need to push buttons
- Automatic redial and automatic answer with compatible headset or car kit
- Push to talk — participants don’t have to answer the phone, as the speaker’s voice is automatically played through their phones’ loudspeakers
- Many devices also include grips for improved stability, and cameras, which capture information that might otherwise might be written as a note
- Non-fold over styles (candy bar designs) also many be easier to place on a flat surface for dialing
